I bought my frypan on the recommendation of a friend, because I was really unhappy with the nonstick pans I had at home. They were adequate, but too thin and over time they eventually lost their "nonstick" value. The 9-1/4" frypan has become my standard. I use it literally every day and it has yet to show any wear at all (I use bamboo utensils in it), particularly for egg dishes but for pretty much any frying. The pan feels great, it retains heat beautifully because of the heavy base, and it is so slippery that sometimes it's difficult to flip a sausage patty or an egg. When my son got his first apartment (he loves to cook), my first gift included a couple of Japanese knives and one of these pans.
